Lelant
Lelant is a hidden gem, boasting a glorious beach and fabulous amenities, qualities which are often overlooked by those passing through on their way to St Ives and Carbis Bay. It makes a great base for a holiday, especially for families, walking enthusiasts and those wanting to explore West Cornwall’s many attractions.
The beach here wraps around the mouth of the Hayle Estuary, taking you seamlessly from one of the country’s prime bird-watching locations out onto the majestic sweep of Porthkidney Sands. Anyone willing to pack a picnic and walk a short distance will be richly rewarded; you can find solitude here even on sunny summer days.
Between undulating sand dunes and the West Cornwall Golf Club runs the St Ives Branch Line, transporting you from one of two tiny train stations along a stunning stretch of coastline and into St Ives itself within minutes.
The pretty cottages, renovated farmhouses and waterfront properties in our Lelant portfolio are well-served by a lovely bistro – The Old Forge – and a handy wine shop, Scarlet Wines.
The rest of West Cornwall is very accessible from Lelant, making some of our favourite days out a possibility; from rock pooling at Godrevy, hiking the coast around Zennor, dipping into the geothermal waters at Penzance’s Jubilee Pool or exploring Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Lelant is the perfect base from which to make the most of this beautiful part of the world.
