14 Fish Street St Ives

As ever, there’s a whole host of brilliant Easter activities in Cornwall to get stuck into during your holiday in St Ives. From classic Easter Egg Hunts at historic gardens and estates, to crafting workshops and nature trails, Cornwall has all the right seasonal ingredients to make this Easter choc-full of family fun!

The Easter holiday is a popular time of year in our collection of cottages, townhouses, apartments and rural retreats, but we have some availability left if you’re quick. We recommend signing up to our mailer for last minute availability and offers.

Once you’ve got your accommodation in St Ives sorted, it’s time to start planning memorable days out to make the little ones smile (and sleep soundly!) Here’s our pick of top Easter activities taking place in some epic locations in Cornwall this year.

National Trust Easter Egg Hunts

It’s hard to beat a visit to a beautiful National Trust property in Cornwall for a wholesome family day out, and Eastertime is no exception.

Our favourite two spots close to St Ives are Trengwainton on the edge of Penzance, and Godolphin near Hayle. Both have trails planned to help you explore the stunning natural settings with the requisite bunny ears and chocolate egg reward – it’s a tried and tested formula but we love it!

Botanical discovery at Eden Project

Eden Project is a good 1hr 15mins from St Ives, but a trip here on your way to or from Cornwall is a great way to extend your holiday for an extra, and very memorable day.

As you’d expect at one of the UK’s top family friendly attractions, Eden project goes all-out for Easter, with a hunt for eggs of many sizes and a nature trail to enjoy. But we’re more intrigued by the partnership this year with Graphic Rewilding, who create vast nature-inspired art in unexpected places. There’s also a wildflower themed maze and of course the epic natural playground to enjoy. The rest of the car journey could be blissfully quiet after a day here!

‘Nature Unmasked’ at Cornwall’s new-look museum

Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery (formerly Royal Cornwall Museum) has had a facelift in time for spring, and now features ‘immersive’ Mineral and Nature Galleries. These cool new spaces are great for little ones, combining audio and visual technology with good old fashioned play including dressing up, Lego, and Jenga!

During the Easter holidays the museum is hosting drop-in workshops called ‘Nature Unmasked’ where you can make your own nature-inspired headdress using lots of colourful crafting materials.

Easter adventure quest at Pendennis Castle

In Falmouth, Pendennis Castle protects the town from invaders – at least it did in the time of Henry VIII! Now it’s the scene of epic daily days out courtesy of English Heritage. This year between 5th – 27th April, go on a historical quest around the castle and hunt for clues hidden around the grounds.

Your reward is chocolate of course, but learning more about Cornish history and enjoying a wholesome family day out is a definite bonus.

Flying displays at Paradise Park

From Easter onwards the skies above Paradise Park in Hayle come alive with colourful feathers and cheeky squawks, as some of the amazing birds being cared for there treat visitors to amazing aerial displays. There’s also a chance to watch the penguins and otters being fed, ride the mini train around the grounds, and follow an Easter trail to solve a puzzle.

If the weather isn’t so good, younger kids will love the Jungle Barn where they can blow off steam with soft play and slides.

With all these amazing days out in the area, all you need to decide is which of our cosy family cottages, spacious townhouses, or luxurious apartments to stay in! Check out Easter availability here.
